Objective - Create an installation at Runyon Canyon that provides a resting spot for hikers while raising awareness about the devastating impact of California wildfires.
Approach - The design uses stacked, charred wooden posts to symbolize the aftermath of a wildfire, with gaps allowing light to shine through. At night, a central beam of light illuminates the structure, mimicking the look
of a bonfire and serving as a visual reminder of the fires that have ravaged the West Coast.
Result - The installation stands as both a striking landmark and a powerful statement, visible for miles, drawing attention to the ongoing wildfire crisis while offering hikers a meaningful place to pause and reflect.
